Quakes continue up the West Coast of US

Salton Sea, Long Beach, Bay Area and 3 in Oregon

10/9/16 – After 200 quakes struck the Salton Sea area of Southern California, which is between Los Angeles and San Diego, in one 24 hour period along a newly discovered fault near the San Andreas, other regions began shaking up the West Coast including Long  Beach, the Bay Area, and three in Oregon.

LA Times:

A shallow magnitude 2.7 earthquake was reported Thursday afternoon in southeast Long Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:54 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 7.5 miles.

Mercury News:

Two small earthquakes hit the Bay Area on Saturday morning off the coast of San Mateo County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 6:11 a.m., a magnitude-2.4 earthquake struck less than 4 miles west-northwest of Broadmoor, an unincorporated area in San Mateo County.

Less than three minutes later, a magnitude-1.4 earthquake took place 3.7 miles west-northwest of Daly City, the agency reported.

Yahoo News:

Three earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 4.1 to 4.8 occurred several hundred miles off the Oregon coast on Sunday, but none triggered tsunami warnings. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 4.8 quake was recorded last and occurred at about noon about 260 miles west-northwest of Coos Bay.
