Flashback: Iran strengthens missile program; claims no threat to “friendly nations”

“Israel should understand what it means.” – Ataollah Salei, head of army of Iran

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani talks to journalists after he registered for February's election of the Assembly of Experts, the clerical body that chooses the supreme leader, at Interior Ministry in Tehran

8/22/16 – (TruNews)  On 2/4/16 the Fars news agency reported the head of Iran’s army, Ataollah Salei, as claiming the country’s missile program will be strengthening.

“We do not pay attention and do not implement resolutions against Iran, and this is not a violation of the nuclear deal,” he said. “Our missile program is not a threat against our friends but it is a threat against our enemies. Israel should understand what it means.”

Now, in recent weeks, Russia has developed a coalition with Turkey and Iran.  These developments are deeply troubling even as the fighting on the Russian border grows more intense. As far as we can tell, the US has been pushed out of the Middle East.  The pieces on the chess board are moving in ways we couldn’t have anticipated only months ago.
