Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?

What do the pagan Celtic roots of this celebration mean for Christians today?

10/28/15 – Since Yeshua Jesus overcame death and the grave, can Christians “reclaim” Halloween and use it as an opportunity to mock Satan and glorify God?  If not, can’t we simply replace the “evil” parts of Halloween and turn it into a “Harvest Festival,” with costumes and “trunk-or-treat” parties?  This is a sensitive subject in Christianity today, with passionate arguments on both sides.  In this teaching (available here for FREE ), Pastor Jim Staley presents Halloween in its original context, explaining the historical significance and roots of this celebration in an attempt to answer these important questions.

**UPDATE 10/10/16 – I’ve had several requests in recent weeks to re-post this article and video but some people found it before I even tried to do so.  This video presentation is one of the best I’ve ever seen on the subject.  You need to know where it all came from in order to make wise decisions for yourself and your family.  Please watch this video for free and share it with someone.

This is a great article from Charisma News on Halloween.  It is highly recommended.  Author and pastor Jamie Morgan said, “Setting aside a day to celebrate evil, darkness, witchcraft, fear, death and the demonic brings disdain to God. Period. A Christian celebrating Halloween would be like a Satan worshiper putting up a nativity scene at Christmas while singing, ‘Happy Birthday, Jesus!’ The two just don’t go together. Jesus has nothing in common with Satan (2 Cor. 6:14), and neither should we.”

Start a dialogue in your church or congregation.  It’s also important for those who don’t yet know Yeshua Jesus to see this video as well.  Get the facts, then decide for yourself.

Ex-witch, Beth, from The Other Side of Darkness put out a brief video with her perspective on celebrating Halloween.
